About the Role

MTVH are looking for an experienced and motivated Floorer to join our Property Services team. Working within Metworks, you will carry out a wide range of flooring repairs, maintenance, and associated trade works across our housing stock, delivering high-quality, right-first-time repairs and excellent customer service to our residents.

The role requires a strong commitment to health and safety, professionalism, and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for completing planned and reactive flooring repairs, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work closely with colleagues and residents, manage your own workload, maintain vehicle stock levels, and support the delivery of a responsive and customer-focused repairs service across our communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out flooring repairs, maintenance and associated trade work to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Complete pre-start risk assessments and follow all health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
  • Plan, manage and complete job orders efficiently, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and quality outcomes.
  • Maintain and account for vehicle stock, tools and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, customers and colleagues while working collaboratively as part of a team.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant trade.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Proven ability to work safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • A full UK manual driving licence (you will provided with your own Metworks van and fuel card for working hours).
  • A minimum of one year of significant driving experience. (MTVH reserves the right to withdraw an offer of employment if company fleet policy is unable to secure adequate insurance.)

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a social housing environment.
  • Asbestos Awareness and Abrasive Wheel Training certifications.
  • Ability to carry out associated trade tasks and basic multi-skilled repairs.

To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete a standard level background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, once an offer of employment is made. As standard you will be added to the DBS updating service with a new check being carried out on a 3 yearly basis. The cost of a DBS will be paid for by the organisation.
